Current Research: She researches and teaches organizational communication and group communication with the focus on strategic knowledge management and social networks, especially those supported by ICTs. She works on VOSS project which develops and tests a theoretical framework to understand the socio-technical dynamics shaping the assembly of teams in virtual scientific communities.

Lindsay Young is a first year PhD student in the Media, Technology & Society Program at Northwestern University. Her research addresses the confluence of three areas of scholarship: social movements, social networks, and information and communication technologies (ICT).

Interests: The impact that ICTs have had on the emergence of networks within the movement; How these network structures guide behavior within the movement; How these network structures are produced and reproduced through actor behavior; The extent to which an organizational digital divide exists between established resource-rich orgs and resource-poor organizations and the implications of such a divide on the development of effective movement networks.
