C-iKnow
IKNOW (Inquiring Knowledge Networks on the Web) and its Cyberinfrastructure extension CI-KNOW, is a suite of Web based software tools to help communities map, measure and modify the knowledge and information flows. It leverages recent advances in social network theories, automated data collection techniques, advanced network analysis techniques and algorithms to map an individual's interests and expertise as well as their multidimensional relations with other members and resources within the community. [CI-KNOW Website]

IKNOW and CIKNOW enables:
  • Users to create, view and edit their profiles; get information about any node in the network; and search for multiple nodes that share common attributes or tags.
  • Users to view the entire network, or to view the 'local' network surrounding a particular node.
  • Users to access the CI-KNOW recommender system tools, which combine relational data and digital traces about the community such as (co)authoring, (co)citation, funding, and patent data to provide recommendations to users. A recommendation pathway visualization will allow users to explore their recommendations through a visual, step-wise process.
  • Network leaders, managers, and funders diagnostics to assess the growth and health of the entire knowledge network.

Blanche
Blanche is a multi-agent based computational modeling environment to specify, simulate, and analyze the evolution and co-evolution of networks.Blanche can be used to simulate a network model containing a system of actors (nodes) and multiple relations among these actors. It uses equations to describe how the strengths of relations and the attributes of the nodes change over time. It is a 32-bit program that runs on the Windows platform. The latest version Blanche 4.x. is currently under development.
