I, Jianxun Chu, near 30-year old, am an assistant professor from University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in Hefei, Anhui, China. And also here in 2006, I got my PhD on Management Science and Engineering in School of Management. My research interests focus on some theoretical fields based on complex networks, such as knowledge management, Innovation, Organizational Learning, communication networks, public crisis management, and so on. In the past four years, I acted as the PI of my four projects supported by NSFC, CAS’s President Prize, and USTC, and also was selected as the member of the Committee of System Dynamics inSystems Engineering Society of China (SESC), the member of International Communication Association (ICA), as well as the member of the Board of Complex Systems Research Committee in China.

About this workshop in Beijing, March, 2008, I like this kind of interdisciplinary discussion with our different backgrounds, just like Santa Fe Institute (SFI) for complexity science. Frankly speaking, though I have some experiences on IT-based Knowledge Management, I also need more collaboration with the scholars in field of tobacco control. For the workshop, I will give a short introduction about my ideas on “IT-based Knowledge Management for Smoking Control Projects in China”, and some  other discussion in groups. In a word, I hope to cherish this chance to push more virtual collaborations between the smoking sharing and KM in the future.
