Dr. Yajia Lan earned his PHD in Occupation Health in Public Health School of West China University of Medical Science. And he studied in ATRCAR Center, Health Study Department, Temple University as a postdoctor. Dr. Lan is now committee member of National Expert C onsultative Committee of  Instant Response to The Emergent Public Health Event; Member of the Sichuan STD/HIV Experts Satabase; Committee member of the Academic Group of Lung Diseases, Chinese Association of Preventive Medicine and committee member of the Youth Academic Group of Occupational Health, Sichuan Labor Protection Committee.
Dr. Lan has long term cooperation with Temple University on tobacco control research. Also, Dr. Lan has served as PI for many research on occupation related disease, such as “Development of management system of injuries and occupational diseases”, “Effects and mechanism of environmental endocrine disrupter on health”, “Occupational stress and its effects on work ability among middle school and primary school teachers”, and so on. Since 2000, he has engaged in the research work on STD/HIV prevention and control, mainly focus on HIV-related behaviors surveillance. As a core expert, he initiated the work of developing technique stipulations for HIV behaviors surveillance, mainly including BSS protocols and questionnaires development for four target high risk population (CWS, MSM, Drivers and IDU), Data input and management software (BSIM) development. In 2003, he conducted a demonstration study on behavior surveillance survey among MSM population. As a main contributor, he wrote some chapters of “The Manual for Behavior Surveillance Survey of AIDS”, which is the first book focus on guiding BSS techniques about HIV/AIDS in China published by the People’s Medical Publishing House (PMPH) in 2005.
