This past weekend multiple SONIC members attended the Academy of Management Annual Meeting! Talks were given by SONIC Director Noshir Contractor, as well as Neelam Modi, Jasmine Wu, and Megan Chan.

We are so excited to announce that SONIC Director Noshir Contractor has been named a Fellow of the Academy of Management! He is 1 of 10 fellows elected to this year’s class, and he will be honored formally on August 6 at the AOM Fellows Dinner. You can read more about this here. Congratulations Noshir!

SONIC Member Alina Lungeanu has accepted a tenure track faculty position at Northeastern University starting Fall 2023. Alina will join the College of Arts, Media and Design in the Department of Communication Studies, with a joint appointment in the D’Amore-McKim School of Business in the Management and Organizational Development Group. Additionally, she will be a Core Member of the Network Science Institute (NetSI). Congratulations!

This past week SONIC’s Noshir Contractor, Neelam Modi, and Leslie DeChurch co-chaired a session called “Overcoming the Data Collection Burden for Organizational Network Analysis” at the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) conference! Also in attendance from SONIC was Megan Chan with a poster seen below!

SONIC Director Noshir Contractor will be giving a lecture as part of Hong Kong Baptist University’s Distinguished Lecture Series! His talk is titled “People Analytics: Using Digital Exhaust to Leverage Network Insights in the Algorithmically Infused Workplace” and you can sign up here.

This past week on March 20, SONIC Director Noshir Contractor was a panelist at a virtual session for the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration! He spoke on the panel titled “AI Shock: The Future of Economy, Organizations, Work, and Management Education”.
