PhD Student Diego Gómez-Zará winning Microsoft Research Grant for his dissertation
Congratulations to TSB grad student Diego Gómez Zará who won a Microsoft Research Grant for his dissertation, “Using Online Team Recommender Systems to Form Diverse Teams!” The grant supports the research of underrepresented students in the field of computing who are finishing their doctoral degrees at North American universities. Recipients receive up to $25,000 for the research and the award rate is at 4%!

Graduate student Jasmine Wu participated in the International Network for the Science of Team Science conference as a panel speaker for Scientometrics and Data Analytics for Team Science Special Interest Group. In the panel, she presented our research titled “Mapping changes in the expertise diversity of patent teams over the past four decades.”

Congratulations to graduate student Kyosuke Tanaka, Dr. Noshir Contractor, and Dr. Leslie DeChurch whose abstract “The Impact of Network Acuity on Information Sharing under Communication Delays in Space Multiteam Systems” is accepted at International Astronautical Congress 2020! Congratulations to lead author, Diego Gómez-Zará, 4th year PhD candidate in Technology and Social Behavior (TSB) on receiving Honorable Mention Award at CHI 2020 for his paper “The Impact of Displaying Diversity Information on the Formation of Self-assembling Teams.”

Congrats to SONIC PhD students Brennan Antone and Niloufar Izadinia on winning NASA HRP Grant Augmentation Awards!
Our graduate students in IEMS, Brennan Antone and Niloufar Izadinia, are selected as winners of NASA’s Human Research Program (HRP) Grant Augmentation Competition. Brennan will work on “POLARIS: Prescriptions Optimally Learned Assessing Risk in Space” (PI: Noshir Contractor) while Niloufar will work on “Measuring and Predicting Performance for Individuals, Teams and Systems in Interdependent Crew Tasks (MAPPITS-ICT)” (PI: Leslie DeChurch).
